Getting Started

06 Jul
This is my first post of my new blog.  Just checking things out and trying to get a feel of how this works.  I’ve wanted to do this for some time now, but have put it off time and time again.  Recently many friends and fellow pastors have commented on their blogs and others they have read so I decided it was time to get started.  I have been a Southern Baptist Pastor for about 18 years and have seen and been apart of many wonderful moments of God’s grace during that time.  I have made many wonderful friends through the years of ministry in four different states.  My wife and I have raised three children while in the ministry and two of them now have families of their own, while our youngest is still in high school.  I look forward to sharing some of the experiences of the ministry.  I don’t think this will take the shape of a trip down memory lane, but rather a journal of sorts of what is happening now.  Not everything will be of a personal nature, perhaps an observance, a response to an article, a sermon preached, etc.  Really,  just whatever may be on the mind of this SBC pastor.

Jud, I enjoyed reading your blog. Keep ,it up. I will never forget the day you told me and your Daddy that the Lord had called, you to ,preach. What an exciting day. I had been told when you was about 2 weeks old by a lady friend of the family that you would become a preacher. I had felt for several months that the Lord was working on you to become a ,preacher and I told one lady and she said she had felt the same thing. May God continue to bless your ministry. Love, Your Mom
